Original Katong Nonya Laksa |
The Laksa as you can see above is said to be The Original Marine Parade Katong Laksa. This laksa is located inside Roxy Square an have been serving the traditional Nonya style laksa for more than 50 years. This broth of this laksa has sort of slight seafood taste to it and the amount of coconut milk added is not that strong making it palatable to most taste buds of locals and even foreigners.
328 Katong Laksa |
The Laksa above is the famous 328 Katong Laksa which is said to be the original Laksa in Katong. This particular laksa to me is sort of more richer in taste and the amount of milk added. The broth taste is richer in the prawn flavour. The chilli paste is the killer as the amount one adds helps to amplify the flavour of the laksa broth. In terms of price wise, the 328 Katong laksa seems more worth in the amount of ingredients in there.
Overall, the showdown between the two laksa stalls was rather interesting as i got to taste two of the famous laksa around the Katong area. Both tasted brilliantly. However, the ultimate verdict is that if you are a person whom loves a richer flavour in the broth and love the chilli paste that goes with it and also value for money, then go for the 328 stall. But then again if you are looking for a a more traditional flavour and palatable to the taste buds of most consumers as the taste of the broth is much more mild then go for the one at Roxy square. Ultimately, it's once preference!
