Home-cooking Experiment - Clay-pot COKE Chicken

Claypot Coke Chicken
Here is chicken dish that me and my aunt experimented after having to watch MasterChef Australia when Food Critic Matt Preston had a Master Class with the contestants. He showed and easy oven baked sticky wings which had the ingredient of COKE in it. With that inspiration, my aunt and i decided to try but with a asian twist of having to add other forms of seasoning like oyster sauce, sesame oil, Chinese wine, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and chilli. Nearly 3/4 of a can of regular COKE was used for the dish. Overall, we were astounded by the outcome as it tasted pretty good as it was slightly sweet due to the coke and with savouriness from the other seasonings the sauce was just the right consistency as it coated the wings nicely. the ginger, garlic and chilli gives the sauce a slight kick in terms of spiciness and the asian flavours. the meat on the other hand was quite moist and tender with the flavours being penetrated in to the chickenTo finish off, the spring onions chopped to lift the dish in terms of the appearance. Overall, me and my aunt were satisfied and it's definitely a dish worth the try and also a dish that goes well with a nice bowl of steamed rice!

Gastronomia Da Paolo - Sweet Treats!

High Tea Treats
Here at Gastronomia da paolo, One can savour on sweet and savoury foods like cakes, bread , sandwiches, pasta etc. I visited the place with a friend of mine and we order these few dishes as seen above. The one that i was so looking forward to was the "Crodos" which seemingly looks like a donut but was in fact a sort of danish pastry with either a pastry cream filling of for the one we tried was a ganache filling. There were other sweet treats including the meringue lemon cupcake and the tiramisu! Overall, i would say the food is rather decent with the fact that the environment is cosy and great for afternoon tea having a quite a selection of pastries and breads.
